Through more than 50 drawings collected under the title "Cueco, revisiting Cézanne ", the Granet Museum presents the work of Henri Cueco who revisits the masterpieces of the master of Aix such as The Bathers, The Jas de Bouffan, L'Estaque, La Sainte-Victoire. Exploring multiple variations, sometimes sassy, often funny, all at once scholarly and desacralizing, Henry Cueco shares his vision of the work of the father of modern art who "has spent a lifetime to build and deconstruct his very experiencing of nature."
Henri Cueco, writer and artist, has always kept his drawings and writing notebooks of his work of which recurring theme was the human relationship with nature. Such records, sort of creation log, have become increasingly present, becoming the work itself. So it is of his last unpublished books on Cézanne reserved to the Granet Museum.
Cueco is now part of the collections of the Museum that has acquired three drawings and all of these books devoted to Cezanne.
Visit coupled exhibitions from December 3, Saturday and Sunday at 2.30 pm (except 25 December, 1 January and 1st Sunday of the month).
