Cité du Livre reunites many cultural structures around the Méjanes library: the Saint John Perse Foundation, the Institute of Image, exhibition and conference halls, as well as a video library of lyrical art.

Set in the old match factory, the XIXth century buildings have been well looked after, maintaining the space of two large halls.
Cité du Livre is a meeting place for all forms of artistic expression. Built around the rich heritage foundations of the Méjanes library (the Marquis of Méjanes left a collection of 80,000 volumes when he died in 1786). Cité du Livre, in association with the Saint John Perse Foundation and the Institute of Image and the "Tous Courts" Festival, organise seminars, meetings and theme exhibitions: Ecritures Croisées, Fête du Livre, Livre en fête. It also houses an international video library of Lyric Art, created in 1991. Since 1996 it has hosted the Prejlocaj Ballet.
Multimedia space for all !
Discover internet. 15 multimedia computers with Internet and with cultural or educational cdroms, the place is open to all. Visitors can access to the multimedia space after inscription to the Mejanes Library, and on reservation, at the opening hours of the library.
Ecritures Croisees
Since 1981, Ecritures Croisees organises the Fete du Livre and is followed by poets, writers, editors, journalists and amateurs of all ages empassioned by writing and reading (October, Cite du Livre).

Saint John Perse foundation
Permanent exhibition of the poet's manuscripts and important documentation about the Nobel Prizewinner for Literature.
