Cativel Hill: This site is overlooked by the
16th century mill, and it is easy to see that it
was a primitive Roman camp dating back to the
11th century, due to the remains of successive
ramparts, the Chapel of the Penitents and the
bell tower, which is evidence of the first parish
church. From the vantage point indicator you
can see a panoramic view of the surrounding
area.
The Valabre Estate «Gardanne, a land of energy»
has an urban landscape marked by a century of
industrial history, but also offers an environment
of quality, the Valabre Estate. Bequeathed to the
parish by the Marquise de Gueidan in 1882, it
has become an outstanding site.
