As you head east along the rocky coast, with its blood-red rocks plummeting into the sea,
the Maures and the Esterel announce the French Riviera. Opposite Hyères are the Îles d’Or
(Golden Islands), Porquerolles, Port-Cros and the Levant, which are submarine reserves and
idyllic car-free islands. Further on, the beaches of Saint-Tropez, Saint-Raphael and Nice, with
its famous "Promenade des Anglais" can be reached by motorway in under two hours.
