The rue Emeric David gives marvellous evidence of this era, namely with its Hotel de Carcès (the oldest), the Hotel de Maliverny at No.33 or even that of Panisse-Panis with rocaille decor dating from 1739.
On the Rue de l’Opéra is the Hotel de Lestang-Parade (No.18), the Hotel d’Arlatan (n°24) and
the Hotel de Grimaldi-Régusse at No.26, by Pierre Puget in 1680. An aristocratic quarter, it is in this
street that the real tennis court was established. It was transformed into a theatre at the start of the 18th century.
