Bénédiction des calissons - Grande fête de l'amande et du calisson

In 1930, the assessor Martelly had a wish to celebrate each year the end of the terrible plague with a blessing and distribution of what will become the famous callison of Aix.
Nowadays, a procession joins the Saint Jean de Malte church where is given this blessing then the distribution takes place on the Cours Mirabeau.

For centuries, this tradition was passed on the first Sunday of September.
