CIAM - Centre International des Arts en Mouvement

On the outskirts of Aix-en-Provence since 2013, the CIAM (International Centre for Arts in Movement) is a drop-in centre seeking to restore links between culture and society.
Based on the arts of the circus, an artistic discipline that is both popular and demanding, the centre's projects are organised around 4 main themes: teaching, innovation-research, support and promoting shows.

Each year, the International Centre of Arts in Mouvement has 18,000 beneficiaries with a wide range of profiles. Here, young offenders sent by the Child Protection Office to the circus workshops with their guardians may well run into the Vice-President of Ubisoft, a jury member for the CIAM Labs hackathon on the augmented circus. CNRS researchers working with artists on the links between the human sciences and the arts of the circus can meet up with autistic children taking part in a multi-year programme. Job seekers and company managers get together under the circus tent for a recruitment workshop based on human skills. And 450 students at the amateur circus arts school and 1,500 children and teenagers take part in a wide range of artistic, educational and cultural projects each year.

Major events take place over the year, including circus courses for children during the school holidays and courses for adults at weekends. The Nights [in movement], Heritage in movement, the Days [and nights] Circus Festival, CIAM Labs.
