Claire Vasarely, une vie dans la couleur

The Vasarely Foundation presents the first major retrospective devoted to Claire Vasarely, a French artist of Hungarian origin who long remained in the shadow of her husband, Victor Vasarely.
Trained at the Műhely in Budapest — often referred to as the “Hungarian Bauhaus” — Claire Vasarely explored a wide range of disciplines from the 1930s onwards, including painting, decorative arts, fashion illustration, posters and tapestry.

This exhibition sheds light on her bold and multifaceted artistic career, revealing a pioneering figure of the Hungarian avant-garde and of twentieth-century women’s art.

Organised in partnership with the Vasarely Museum in Pécs, the retrospective draws on previously unseen archives and a selection of rare works to highlight Claire Vasarely’s free-spirited and visionary approach to creation.
