Regards d'un collectionneur - Collection Oscar Ghez

Caumont – Centre d’Art presents an exceptional exhibition dedicated to the collection of Oscar Ghez (1905–1998). A visionary and passionate industrialist and art collector, Ghez assembled a remarkable collection now housed at the Musée du Petit Palais in Geneva, which he founded in 1968.
Nearly sixty masterpieces will be on display, tracing the evolution of French painting from the late 19th century to the avant-garde movements of the 20th century.

Oscar Ghez stood out for his bold choices, championing artists who were once little-known but later recognised as major figures — such as Caillebotte, Bazille, Bracquemond and Luce — while also giving significant visibility to women artists. A great admirer of portraiture and the human figure, he followed an independent path, often counter to the artistic trends of his time.

Discover this singular collection, shaped by a free and discerning eye, revealing major artistic journeys across half a century of creation.
