Temple protestant - Culte protestant - Église protestante unie (EPU)

This temple is the place of worship of the community of the Eglise Protestante Unie (United Protestant Church) of the Aix Region: It consists of people gathered by Christ around the reading of the bible, prayer, hospitality, protection of creation and solidarity.
This Church is the main place of the parish of the Eglise Protestante Unie de France in Pays d’Aix but also of its partners.
It offers many activities, in particular:
• the service every Sunday at 10:30 AM, it is open to all and followed by a shared lunch for those who wish,
• a welcome time "Kfé Contact" on Saturdays from 3pm to 5pm with the possibility of discussion with members of the parish or a visit of the temple.
• other activities proposed during the week are detailed on website of the Eglise Protestante Unie du Pays d’Aix.

The minister Joël Dahan receives people who wish to meet him. Simply make an appointment by email or telephone.

This Church is also marked by its local history:
This place is an old synagogue built in the 19th century which welcomed from 1836 to 1952 the Israelite community of Aix en Provence, and, notably, the family of Darius Milhaud who married there in 1926.

In 1952, the Eglise Réformée de France (Reformed Church of France) bought the synagogue, and it became a Protestant temple. Two “menorah”, to remember the ancient synagogue, have been preserved and in 1998 a commemorative plaque retracing the history of the place was installed.
The life of this Protestant parish was particularly marked by the minister Henri Manen (Protestant chaplain of the Camp des Milles) and his wife, the minister Marc Donadille and his wife, the minister Raymond Ducasse and his son, the minister Roland de Pury and his wife, all proclaimed «Righteous Among the Nations ».

In 2013, the Eglise Réformée de France merged with the Eglise Evangélique Luthérienne de France (Evangelical Lutheran Church of France) to form the Eglise Protestante Unie de France (United Protestant Church of France).

Today, the temple and the various adjoining rooms receive not only religious activities, but also charitable and cultural ones. The entrance gates are often open and thus allow anyone who wishes to better discover this place and its history.

Church services in English (Church of England) are held every 4th Sunday of the month at 5pm (4pm from October).
