Walking tour of the bastides, châteaux and gardens of the Aix region led by a graduate of the Ecole du Louvre, this guided tour offering a glimpse into provençal art de vivre in the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries.
World Cultures in France and Barbara Lepecheux, a graduate of the Ecole du Louvre, offer guided walking tours of provençal bastides, magnificent estates, sometimes referred to as châteaux, where people enjoyed the cooler seasons in style. Often set in secluded, well preserved locations, the estates blend manor houses, farm structures, and remarkable gardens during the 17th, 18th, ans 19th centuries and to dive into the history of the famous families from Aix.
Whether passionate about art, history, botany, or collectors art heart, these parliamentarians, nobles, commoners, shipowners, or major merchants, left us a legacy of rich French culture, open to the world these inspiring, and a times even tantalizing tours.
