To be enchanted by the vibrant, fragrant fields, the ideal period lies between 15 June and 15 July. However, like any living wonder, it may bloom earlier or linger into the warmth of August.

In Aix-en-Provence, nestled within preserved natural surroundings, discover Terre Ugo, a family home transformed into a cultural and heritage site. Here, the secrets of lavender cultivation, as well as those of honey and bees, are revealed to visitors.
As the first agro-touristic site in Aix-en-Provence specialising in organic lavender farming, Terre Ugo offers an educational trail through the lavender fields complete with photo spots, shaded areas, a picnic zone, children’s games, light refreshments, and a boutique featuring 100% French organic producer good, perfect for taking home a souvenir from this place devoted to local craftsmanship.
The best time to admire the lavender in full bloom is between 25 June and 25 July. Nevertheless, you can observe the early blossoms from the beginning of June and enjoy their fragrance until the end of August (harvesting takes place after 31 August).

Must-Try Experience – Terre Ugo offers a lavender soap-making workshop set amidst the lavender fields. Come and personalise your own soaps scented with lavender flowers; you can either let your imagination run free or adhere to the traditional codes of Marseille soap.
Mini-Bus Excursions
Departing from Aix-en-Provence, let yourself be tempted by an excursion along the Provençal routes to discover the lavender fields. Some tours will take you to the Valensole Plateau (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence), a premier destination for lavender cultivation, while others head to Sault (north of the Luberon), where the harvest occurs later in the season.
These fields are the result of a farmer’s hard work. Please show respect by avoiding trampling the lavender plants or cutting stems to make bouquets. Additionally, be mindful of bees during full bloom and wear closed-toe shoes, as the fields are often stony.
