AOP Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence
The Aix-en-Provence terroir is the discovery of four different terroirs between the sea and the mountains for a single appellation and a family of IGPs. A very Mediterranean terroir is located around the Etang de Berre with maritime influences that soften the ardour of the sun. The Mistral terroir is the closest to the Rhône.
The Coteaux terroir is the heart of the appellation where the vines form perspectives that guide the eye towards the Provençal bastides. Finally, the High Plateaux terroir is located to the east of the appellation with its vines clinging to the northern slope of the mountain dear to Cezanne.
